3) Baka

It started as a promising day, blues skies, no grey,
anticipation of relaxation, extended stay in a land

subtropical locale, just south of japan a place of
love and kindness, domestic or foreign, woman or man

still rolling from events magnificent, triumphantly radiant
the need for repetition most adamant

replaying the past instead of presently rehearsin
while my doom was being forecast I was straight channel surfin

pack my bags, leave the country five months my home
grab my swimsuit, sunscreen toothbrush, don't need my phone but

ah yes, pocket some unnecessary stress, transform my
orderly pile to a scattered mess I confess

cultivated in the earth to expand your mind, or maybe
waste your time, punishable crime

but ignorance is bliss I checked my brain with my luggage
and now I'm in cell eating cold rice and ruffage

____________________________________________

at 20,000 feet a sea of clouds we passed
but i stay blind like Stevie, my head stuck up my ass

we descended from the sky with the setting sun
thoughts already on the beach, free of worry, only just begun

no maam, I have no guns, or narcotics
perishable items, meats, vegetables, plants, animals wild or exotic

the purpose of my visit is a leisurely trip
but my plans were abruptly changed when the canine came to sniff

i discarded my possession in the nearest trash receptacle
movements were unwarranted, agents growing skeptical

before I could renege on a poorly played hand,
I was whisked of to a room door closing with a slam

reality struck with vengeance , body tense,
a heavy conscience growing increasingly more dense
and now i go by inmate #5 trying to remember these words,
cause my request for pen and paper was denied

Chorus 2x
Man that was stupid,
I've been humiliated, frustrated,
can't turn back time cause I'm spoiled, outdated
man that was stupid
the scripts been flipped around,
pride in the lost and found,
just the tears of a clown

________________________________________________________________
but Now the contents of my bag are strewn about the floor,
they checked my swimsuit, sunscreen, toothbrush, shooting to score
control cavity of my bass, an absolute disgrace,
had my head in my hands, but I already lost face

the embarrassment ain't over, whacking knuckles like a nun,
ask the same damn questions, like a bad re-run
please look this way for the camera, man the pain would not diminish
and then they dropped my pants cause the search wasn't finished

cuffed up, I can't believe it, fill in the gaps,
where's the director of this movie yelling "cut! that's a wrap"
four deep in the squad car on the way to the station,
for more interrogation, any missed information

now I'm waiting with this cop, smiling at me with a toothless grin,
I swear to god these walls are about to cave in,
feels like high school bright and early smoking menthol cigarettes,
still the same dumb kid who ain't learned his lesson yet

chorus 2x

______________________________________________

Mentally exhausted but my body fully rested,
thinking bout the other times I've been tested, never bested
see I always dodged the bullet, got away with the gold,
but my powers of evasion took a permanent vacation

now I'm sitting here wasting my time and talent,
please give me another chance for something truthful and valiant,
not subjection to searches, locked up like caged birds on perches,
freedom and girls, my only urges

see the battle right now is with the grandfather clock,
and his infantry is holding all the keys to the locks,
and he's down for the tussle, I don't think I have the muscle to shoulder
this load, each passing day my spirit growing old

like my cellmate, face gripped with fear
we don't speak the same language, but I hear him loud and clear,
I'll be forever changed. old self will disappear, never again
turn a blind eye to the man in the mirror

chorus 2x
